Big hype, little substance
The location is super convenient, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore. Clean, spacious private room with a delightful large bathroom. Friendly staff who help with requests. Breakfast isn't extravagant, but it's adequate. Just be aware of the old building's character. it might not suit everyone. Worth it for the price and charm!

Centrally located, making it easy to explore Funchal.
While I appreciated the location, some challenges marred my stay. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find the shared bathrooms in a less than hygienic condition. The mattress in my room was uncomfortable, and I was left with worn, small towels. Additionally, despite requesting an early breakfast ahead of time, the staff was unwilling to accommodate my needs, leaving me feeling neglected during my stay.

The hotel is in a prime location, just a few minutes walk from the old town and the stunning oceanfront. I found it super convenient to access local amenities like cafes, shops, and transportation. It’s also located right behind the cathedral, which added to its charm.
The shared bathrooms were not very clean and felt a bit uncomfortable at times.

Had an amazing time with friends! The hotel was right in the middle of things, making it easy to explore local attractions like the botanical gardens and markets. Our room was spacious, and there was good Wi-Fi. The old-world charm definitely added to our adventure, and the breakfast rolls were surprisingly delightful.
The only downside was the lack of air conditioning. It got a bit too warm at night, which made it tough to sleep comfortably.

Centrally located, the accommodation offered a charming blend of old-world character and modern comforts. The room was spacious and clean, with a lovely view that added to the experience. Staff were accommodating, allowing me to store my luggage post-checkout, which was much appreciated. However, the breakfast was disappointingly basic, and the old furniture could feel a bit worn at times. Light sleepers may also be disturbed by occasional noise from the surrounding area.

I stayed in a private room with an en-suite bathroom. It was clean, spacious, and had two large beds, which I loved! The bathroom was great too. The decor was a bit older, but it really added to the charm of the place. The location was perfect for my walk, right in the heart of Funchal. The breakfast staff were super nice, pouring coffee and letting me take some bread for my journey. Just a little feedback, the lift is old but works fine!

Centrally located, the old-fashioned charm of the building added character to the experience. Staff were very welcoming and helped with special requests. While I enjoyed my stay, light sleepers may find nighttime noises a bit disruptive due to other guests. Overall, a lovely place to explore Funchal from.
